It’s been a little bit of a harder two weeks over here - health issues, not enough time in the day, and just a general sense of overwhelm. My new philosophy is one day at a time. Small business life can trick you into thinking you’re the only one that can do all the things - but giving up things on your list is incredibly empowering. Ask for help, hire help, figure out how to not feel like you’re drowning, because coming up for fresh air is pretty darn wonderful❤️.

Also? My new chair for Mama Love Sessions came in and Mal (my oldest) opened the door when it was delivered. All I heard was, “Seriously? Another one, Mama? Listen to your sign!”😂

I began this Mother’s Day weekend with the joyful @deidredejear queens, and it was the loveliest. Constant teasing, Afrobeats, all the laughter, and that feeling you get when you’ve spent time with kindred spirits.

Mamas and those that mother, you are warriors and world changers, don’t ever forget it.

I photographed Wren’s (the proud older sister) newborn session - and from the minute I met this family I adored them. Clients become more like family when you have the honor of being there for the big moments. Ephy (my 8-year-old) came in after Wren was done being photographed and whisked her away to play, we chatted and captured the most perfect images, and it honestly didn’t feel a bit like work.

I can’t wait to print fine art to match Wren’s portraits - thank you for letting me into your lives, @jggsturgis and @ken_sturgis , what a delight.

Capturing these small moments - the way a hand touches a cheek, playing peek-a-boo, picking dandelions,smirks and giggles —> it’s simply the best. I still look at pictures of our youngest and am immediately transported to the way his little head smelled, his chubby hand in mine and his belly shaking laugh that only his brothers could bring out. They change in an instant.

One day they’re nestled in the crook of your neck, the next they’re getting on the school bus for their first day of kindergarten.
